Coastal Hospice at the Lake is an inpatient facility located in a dedicated wing of historic Deer’s Head Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland. It is designed to give you or a loved one short-term care, usually less than five days.
A stay there is appropriate when you or a loved one needs temporary, intense medical care to treat symptoms that cannot be managed at home, such as pain, breathing difficulty or anxiety.
When your caregiver needs a break or if a crisis occurs at your home, you can visit Coastal Hospice at the Lake for a respite stay.
Coastal Hospice at the Lake also cares for you if you have just been released from the hospital, are transitioning to home care and need adjustments to your medications or time to prepare your home.
The wing is small, with six private and eight semi-private rooms, so your care is intimate and immediate. A hospice physician visits you daily, and medical staff is present 24 hours a day, including registered nurses, certified aids, social workers, chaplains and volunteers.
Your friends and family can visit you any time of the day or night with unlimited visiting hours. Your family pet is welcome, too.
Community rooms, including a garden room, a kitchen and walking trails around the lake, are places for your family and friends to gather and relax.
