OCEAN CITY, MD – Oct. 17, 2017 – The inaugural Michael J. Strawley, Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament, held on September 25th at the River Run Golf Club in Berlin, raised $4,300 for the Macky & Pam Stansell House at Coastal Hospice at the Ocean.
More than 200 golfers played in the tournament organized by the Strawley Memorial Committee, in memory of Michael, former longtime owner of the Bearded Clam Bar in Ocean City.
Tee signs, sponsored by 23 local businesses, helped raise the $4,300 donation. Participating business include: Bahia Marina/Fish Tales, Ocean Lanes, S & J Industries, Sunset Grille, Cork Bar, Comfort Suites Ocean City, Harborside Bar & Grill, The Spinnaker, Sorian’s Restaurant & Coffee Shop, Matteo’s Salsa Loco Restaurant & Cantina, Concierge Marriage LLC, Fisher’s Popcorn, Wick’s Inc./Ocean Promotions, Tommy’s Pizza Corner, Polock Johnny’s on the Boards, Casey Construction Group LLC, JB Kline Landscaping, Dale Johnson & Family, O.C. The Macky & Pam Stansell House at Coastal Hospice at the Ocean will be a hospice residence and community outreach center in Worcester County. It will be a home for hospice patients who lack an able caregiver. It will also be the site for community-based palliative care, counseling, grief support, and community wellness programs.
Founded in 1980, Coastal Hospice is a nonprofit health care organization that cares for individuals facing life-limiting conditions but who want to remain as active and engaged as possible. Coastal Hospice cares for patients in their home, nursing home, assisted living facility or at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. The organization serves Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester and Somerset counties.
