SALISBURY—Due to heavy rains, the 7th annual Hats for Hospice Preakness Party benefitting Coastal Hospice scheduled for tomorrow will be relocated indoors. The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Ocean City Golf Club, 11401 Country Club Dr., Berlin.
All other activities for the event will continue as planned. The event will feature horse betting, designer hat auction, live music, food and fun. The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Charter Society Anchor Award to Dirk and Gayle Widdowson. The Hats for Hospice Preakness Party is the signature fundraiser supporting charity care at Coastal Hospice. Charity care is provided to patients on the Lower Shore who have no resources for care or who have needs that extend beyond their insurance coverage.
Founded in 1980, Coastal Hospice is a nonprofit health care organization that cares for individuals facing life-limiting conditions but who want to remain as active and engaged as possible. Coastal Hospice cares for patients in their home, nursing home, assisted living facility or at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. The organization serves Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester and Somerset counties.
